The purpose of this paper is the analysis of the relationship between  total annual catch and fishing intensity of the corvina (brazilian croaker) caught along the center coast of São Paulo State (Brazil, 24ºS). We obtained: C = (32.2 - .0019lE)E where: C = total annual catch (kg) (1959-1971), and   E = fishing intensity (total number of hauls, 3.5 hours of trawling, during the  year). C is maximum (135 712 kg) for E = 8 429 hauls per year.
