ABSTRACT Campylorrhinia is a congenital, non-lethal condition often linked to other anomalies, characterized by deformation of the rostral cranial bones, resulting in a twisted appearance when viewed frontally. Known as wry nose, crooked nose, or maxillofacial dysgenesis, it has been reported in various species, particularly horses and llamas. This case report describes a rare occurrence in a ten-months-old, Holstein heifer at the Gralha Azul Farm clinic, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR), Paraná, Brazil. Clinical signs included minor seromucous nasal discharge and snoring, with otherwise normal growth and health. Complementary exams, including dorsoventral skull X-rays, ruled out trauma, showing no fractures or bone callus. The imaging confirmed maxilla deviation, distortion of both choanae, and mandibular curvature, referred to as Campylognathia. To our knowledge, this is the first report of Campylorrhinia congenita in Brazil. While potential complications include difficulty in breathing or food apprehension, these issues were not observed in this case. The cause of this malformation is still unknown.
